Comments:

The recombinant human CD105 protein was provided by R&D Systems, Inc. (Minneapolis, MN). CD105, also referred to as endoglin, is a type I membrane glycoprotein that forms part of the TGF-β receptor complex on cell membranes. CD105 is a 180 kDa homodimeric transmembrane protein composed of 633 amino acids, which consists of a large extracellular domain, a hydrophobic transmembrane domain and a short intracellular domain. The CD105 external domain binds to the TGF-β1 and TGF-β3 isoforms with a high affinity, forming the TGF-β receptor complex. It serves an important role in regulating cellular proliferation, differentiation, migration, adhesion and angiogenesis, which are vital processes for tumour growth, survival and metastasis. CD105 is predominantly expressed in angiogenic endothelial cells, or blood vessels surrounding tumour tissues and mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs).
