After four rounds of selection, 30 individual phage clones were randomly selected and individually amplified. Of the 30 phage clones, 10 exhibited relatively high binding capabilities to Caco-2 cells. The novel SP-2 (CVSVGMKPSPRP) peptide, which could specifically bind to CRC cells, was selected in this study. This peptide has much potential to be developed as a more effective probe or marker for the early diagnosis of CRC.
